One of our favorite bottle shops in ALX @deptofbeerandwine.bsky.social started offering beer advent calendars a few years ago. Several active local posters (@martaschantz.bsky.social and @josephfray.bsky.social especially) made it a social thing. Each calendar is unique - but with a lot of overlap.

It’s a Czech-inspired lager, more like check-mark inspired lager because I would drink many more of these on a bridge. There have been several quaffable beers in this first third of the calendar, but this is the most quaffablest so far.

I cannot take seriously any endeavor using “AVA” as a handle. Just can’t do it!

Really into this style - light, crisp, and just a faint suggestion of hops, almost like you’re just thinking about the idea of hops while drinking this. Would have four more.

It’s our first seasonal can art, as well as the leader in the clubhouse for most metal can art. It’s a hazy ipa with a “hint of a Christmas fear”… no doubt a reference to the 7.9% abv, because I am most certainly fearing this shit.

For a big hoppy IPA… it’s fine (but a reminder why I quit these).
