This has always been a point of anxiety for me, and for Ma. But, as time marches on, I want to as well. The unknown is scary, but not knowing is scarier. The best way I can honor her memory is hoping she knows I'm taking care of myself.

I love and miss you Ma.

Today I not only recognize her life, but also mine. I took time to check in on my health, visiting my doctor to discuss best plans for my overall well being, and completing my first mammogram (results came back as normal).

The pain of her absence will never disappear, but knowing I will always have memories helps ease it. I am thankful for the wonderful people in my life who have given me their love and support this last year - I am eternally grateful more than you will ever know.

Navigating the loss of a parent isn't linear - some days are okay, some are not, some are unbearable. You learn from each feeling you experience and use that knowledge to help you get through the next day.

It was the safest bet indeed
