Listen, I tried. Ever since my father passed in 2019, I’ve greeted each new year hoping it’ll be better than the previous year — but it was either just as bad or worse. This year, I was like, “Not fooling me for the 5th time in a row! Jan 1st is just another Thursday!” But evil finds a way.
The historian side of me is feeling tingly reading the current news. And not in a good way. My niche was modernism in the arts which meant largely focusing on that period between the world wars and, while politics wasn’t my main focus, let’s say I don’t like the soundbites I’m hearing.

Belated Happy Christmas to everyone that celebrates or just gets to enjoy a day off. Spending it pet-sitting and binging Netflix while enjoying tamales that I pulled out of the freezer (bc I hate actually cooking while house sitting). I’m happy to be alone and not stressed out by other people.

Xfinity is the WORST. They have a monopoly in our neighborhood and keep raising the price every year, but when I try to go to THEIR website while using THEIR internet, it never works. I hate it here. Please, Santa, bring fiber internet to this neighborhood so I can leave Xfinity behind for good.

Got back from a holiday this week (thankfully before things got too intense with flights!) where I enjoyed being unplugged from the world. I also forgot about photos because I was living in the moments, but here is my one attempt at the sunset.

Watching The Rainmaker tv show as a lazy way to pass the Sunday afternoon with Mum and spending half my time going “their accent is WEIRD” and googling the cast to find out they’re actually British or Irish.

Watching The Rainmaker tv show as a lazy way to pass the Sunday afternoon with Mum and spending half my time going “their accent is WEIRD” and googling the cast to find out they’re actually British or Irish.
Got my shots today! Rewarding myself w/ easy comfort food bc I always have a reaction (mild fever, aches, exhaustion, etc) for a couple days. Pizza place made a mistake on my order so now I have TWO large pizzas for the price of one so yes I have ALL THE comfort food

I was really tempted to resub to Hulu this week (after cancelling it months ago after being laid off and tightening the budget) because Only Murders In The Building is one of my favorite shows but turns out my desire for free speech is greater than my love for a TV show.

The newest season of #Taskmaster UK has aired! I am excited to laugh with 5 new contestants. But I just remembered I haven't watched the latest two eps of TM NZ so there are some priorities first (btw love that Paul has relaxed and allowed himself to be smiley this series!)

Finally getting around to doing what we’d planned to do when we first moved into this neighborhood (right before Covid shut things down): check out local restaurants. This Thai place is definitely worth a return. I nearly cried because I’d forgotten how much I love a good green curry.

I’m finally figuring out what the heck y’all are chattering about tonight but it’s surreal and bewildering trying to piece everything together solely from posts that escaped containment due to their vagueness (because no trigger words muted them).
I’ve long muted particular names and certain key words to keep my feed sane so I feel like that Community gif of Trey walking in with the pizza when I idly decided to doomscroll just now.
