Hasegawa's new role in the double pivot has been interesting to watch. She has more freedom to roam & doesn't sit in front of the backline

She is everywhere linking play with short passes & crashing the box in attacks. Scored today as well

The way Hasegawa has been afforded freedom to roam slightly higher up and crash the box this season is interesting to watch and might see her score a lot more.

Saw a lot of those against Chelsea too.

Patri Guijarro vs Athletic Club | Liga F 2025-26

Her goal from the halfway line was spectacular but Patri often quietly puts in a 9/10 week in week out. Her passing, her read of the game and positioning is top notch.

One of the most consistent players in WoSo.

Maika Hamano vs Man City | WSL 25-26

Hamano scored a goal for Chelsea's second but I was very impressed with her workrate off the ball. She is a tireless runner, who contributes a lot in the pressing beyond her obvious upside on the ball.

Big season for her imo!

One of the transfers that has gone under the radar but I am quite excited about is Smilla Valloto joining Wolfsburg.

Was impressed with her workrate and ball carrying in the midfield and crisp passing over short ranges, so it could work quite well in Frauen Bundesliga.

Quesada decided to try a false nine approach against a deep block

1st half: got outshot by Logrono, had nobody to cross to.

2nd half: Bruun comes on, provides a reference in attack & later equalized from a corner.

My early observations on Quesada is that Madrid's buildup looks poorer

The double pivot of Irune-Angeldahl isn't staggered enough, forcing Weir to drop super deep for a passing option

The lineup choice was odd against a 5-4-1 block as well
