Well, tunnelling has been used by sappers for milennia -but at rates of say 100 days/km it's a tad slower than a cruise missile.

I think you’re a bit optimistic. Trump has shown that the US at any time can elect someone that can backstab their allies. Even if the next president swings the pendulum back, there are no guarantees for the future. This is why most European countries have bipartisan foreign policy. Stability is 👍

I believe that the states from the Baltic to the North Sea should demand the shadow ships to;
1. Have proper insurance
2. Be submitted to seaworthiness controls
3. Have the crews registered

It’s international sea, but we should demand a minimum of safety to our environment
