On why my credit union did not give me a tap card in 2023 when I asked for one:

Teller 1: ...maybe it was the kilt, maybe they couldn't match that level of manliness...

Teller 2: Well, I was just thinking about how it's just that cool, but that's just me.

Attendant: Must be slightly cooler with a kilt on, huh?

Me: (pauses)

A+M (in unison): Not by much!

(laughs)

A: ...even if you aren't wearing it *properly*...

M: There is no proper way.

Me: (saying nothing)

Person 1: "If this sun weren't right in my face, this would be perfect!"

Person 2: "And then there's this nice gentleman here, in his kilt..."

P1: "Aren't the [state] Highland Games coming soon?"

P2: "No, not till August."

P1: "Guess they're not soon enough!"

(at a self-serve soda fountain)

Him: "I like it!"

Me: "Thanks."

Him: "I wish I were that brave."

Me: "You get used to it."

Nobody says anything about kilts at Renaissance Festivals.

Person: What's the kilt like?

Me: ...perfect?

Person: I bet it's a bit breezy!

"Love the kilt, by the way."

"I like your kilt!"

"That's a beautiful tartan! Love the pink!"

(5/16/25, Wal-Mart.)

"You're one of two people I've seen wearing a kilt today! What's the occasion?"

"It's...Wednesday?"

"I see!" *gestures between legs* "It's kinda breezy!"
