My dad, a vet, 78, almost blind, disabled, not eligible for disability thru VA, denied Medicaid, Section 8 wait list closed for years now, not eligible for any other HUD. He has no assets, gets $1,195/mo, his rent is $860 after discount. VA doesn't care. USA doesn't care.
