First new #paleoart piece finished for 2026: a super modern, 100% accurate take on Mosasaurus and a plesiosaur.

In unrelated news, I had the spirit of the early 19th-century palaeoartist John Martin exorcised from my house over the weekend.

A lot of people need to stop viewing migration as an infinity cheat to to beat demographic restructuring.

It's the same mistake as thinking Ireland, Eastern and Southern Europe could be an endless source of cheap labour even as those societies experienced declining birthrates and rising prosperity

Fieldwork carries real risk in rural Mexico.

That context matters in the disappearance of biologist Miguel Ángel de la Torre Loranca, kidnapped in Veracruz in Nov 2025 after a “request for dialogue.”

His family says he was taken alive and is calling for visibility.
Biologist kidnapped in Mexico
In the mountains of central Veracruz, scientific work is rarely abstract. It means walking narrow paths through cloud forest, speaking patiently with communities, and learning to read landscapes that…

First Trailer Color Scripts #KnightsOfGuinevere

I wanted something bold and iconic for the colors of KOG. Something you can see across from the room and recognize it's KOG. It's a blend of nostalgic old Disney x 1990's-Early 2000's anime also with a lot of horror influence. I love horror movies.

A diagrammatic and a life reconstruction of Colymbosathon ecplecticos, an Ostracod of the Silurian Herefordshire Biota.

Take the reconstruction with a grain of salt though; the paper was unable to discern the segmentation for many of the limbs, so that is somewhat guesswork.

You still have time to exhibit a piece of your portfolio in the Virtual Paleoart Gallery!
We want to showcase the work of women paleoartists and archaeological illustrators, so you can send us up to 3 artworks. It doesn't have to be new or specifically made for the conference!

I revamped this slightly-exaggerated one-page diary comic with new art

Can't remember if '2022' was when I wrote the comic or when we actually went out to this restaurant, but we probably went out pre-2020 because I didn't draw anyone wearing masks

1980s 'Hypercard' clipart, which I think of as the original clipart, had way more going for it than the minimalist straight-line vector clipart we have today.

When computers were novel & new in the 80s, I would go to school library just to print this clipart.
