You know what really sucks about being an outlier case of someone using ChatGPT?

It's knowing most people are using it for things humans can do better (technical writers or copywriters) or just plain should be doing (therapy or companionship).

I've been thinking a LOT about a big policy platform that would be accepted by the majority of Americans. It'd be heavily targeted by corporate power, but I think it would work well. I put it as my first substack. I don't know if I'll ever use my substack to post again so no following needed.

PSA: if you are using AI tools based on Chat GPT right now, especially those that are meant to synthesize and explain information, it is consistently giving false validation to what it thinks you're asking. It is not possible to get it out of that framing even if you directly tell it to.

I think one of the hardest things about my exact "lived experience" is that I have an uncanny ability to say what's about to happen.

In January, I remember asking @fdmorg.bsky.social 's podcast producer to clip a section of a previous episode to talk about the Aspie supremacy on display with E.M.

Nothing warms my heart more than having a 3 exit backup on 75 in Plano because people rubber necked to watch the protest at the Tesla dealership. 🤣

Unpopular opinion

I'm getting tired of everyone talking about DEI going away. It never truly existed in the first place for the majority of the people it was meant to help. Only one demographic benefitted.

Working in this space for well over a decade, most DEI efforts failed to address inequity.

I got my website rebuilt as a repository of my publicly available presentations and whatnot. If I missed something you're aware of, please do let me know!

O has a cold and doesn't want to go out. So decided to use my free weekend time revamping my oglatimer website. I'm pretty proud of what I have designed. It's basically like a big repository of all the things I've done that I can remember and are still available online.

Just saw @netflix.com new immersive experience is opening here in Dallas. Went to find out what it was and on their website they show @squidgames.bsky.social as a thing inside this. And so I am left questioning, why???

I got an ad for some AI glasses named Halliday. It make me think someone missed the point of Ready Player One.

I'm not sure how this will land... but does anyone else get real Swordfish (2001) meets Hackers (1995) vibes from the haphazard rushed dismantling of the US government? Like the people doing it feel like they're acting out their own main character fantasies?

I was talking to this guy at karaoke last night for the second time. He was looking for answers why he reacts the way he does.

He also had all the language of a familiar subset of the Autistic community. One I know too well.

What got me... He was still looking to improve and understand himself.

Sometimes I really love my job.

I'm starting to reach out locally, and I was asked if I've connected with a local provider. I explained how that our target population was different. The person understood.

Like I know I know my work well, but I often forget just going day to day.

Can we talk a tiny bit about political strategy right now?

Let's focus on one very important aspect.

Compassion fatigue

This can happen when people are asked to care about something too often. It reduces engagement in a cause over time.

I accidentally stumbled into a red pilled comedy show. It's all so groan worthy. I'm being the asshole in the back groaning in the absence of laughter. This is the perfect evening after the politics of the week.

You know something I find delicious. There's all this political commentary about how this signal is being sent the aspie oligarch. And me knowing he's too Autistic and entitled to recognize the signs.

I really wish this meltdown was because I'm freaking out instead of the reality that this is just too big of an adjustment for my brain to handle. It's subsiding and I have plans for tomorrow. But right now I just wish I didn't have to be dealing with it.

I'm having an utter panic attack. Not because this is happening. That one happened last summer. This one is because I already have too much on my plate and now I have to adjust to even more all at once. Myself, my org, the other org, my kids.

It's out! It's out! I'm so excited!!!!
It's been 30 years since the Neurodiversity movement began, but our history? It’s scattered—spread across the internet, lost to defunct websites, and held in the memories of those who were there.

I've been listening a lot more to @vialband.bsky.social and @skatunenetwork.bsky.social when I'm in the car.

Spotify has finally stopped reverting to the 90s punk and ska when creating a playlist. As a result, I'm finally getting songs about the trans experience. Makes my non-binary heart happy.

@fdmorg.bsky.social podcast "Herding Cats (and other stories from the genesis of the Neurodiversity movement)" is dropping tomorrow morning.

Listen as Kassiane points out to Morénike and me that we said we were going to talk about one thing but then we talk about something completely different LOL
January 16, 2025 at 10:45 PM
Okay, y'all. I'm going to try to start using this in place of Facebook. This will include both personal posts and Neurodiversity related stuff.

Hopefully it's not too big of an adjustment since I started out my activism on Twitter back in the day.

We want to recenter ASAN’s mission to “empower autistic people across the world to take control of our own lives and the future of our common community.” We want to truly and meaningfully center and uplift autistic people who are marginalized even within the autistic community.
