I love the show... but wouldn't recommend episode 7. It was a bit of a slog, with almost no dialogue in the entire episode. There was a nice montage though. Visually, the show is probably unparalled, and you can really see the style that Gilligan honed on Breaking Bad and BCS.

How are you finding Pluribus after 7 episodes? Are you still lukewarm, or have you been hooked? Second best show of 2025 (Andor was the best), IMO.

lol… is there anybody in Trump’s cabinet who is even remotely qualified? There are at least a dozen senior appointments who may be the worst ever appointed to their position. If Hassett isn’t an exploding dumpster fire, he’ll be better than most.

Better the world should use unregulated middle eastern oil, which emits far more CO2? I’d much rather use the tightly regulated oil from Canada, than any of the dirtier varieties from Russia, Saudi, or Venezuela. It would help mitigate global temperature increases.

Canada is sitting on the greatest cache of resource wealth in the world. Maybe extracting some of it might be a good idea?

I'd say that some of Gilligan's best characters have been withholding and don't exactly jump off the page immediately; Kim Wexler, Gus Fring, Nacho, Mike, but ultimately pay off.

It's a slow burn, like BCS. Let it luxuriate, and enjoy the visual set pieces (like that great supermarket scene). I'll concede that Carol isn't exactly forthcoming, but I don't find her unlikeable. She's guarded, like her BCS character (and other Gilligan characters). I'm loving the show so far.

I don't get why so many Republicans don't see him as an albatross and just cut him loose. His net approval is -18%. If they have any hope for re-election, they should turn on him before the midterms, and hope a star can take his place before 2028. Yet they seem intent on going down with the ship.

I just caught episode 1 last night… wow! I’m starting to wonder if Vince Gilligan might be one of the best modern story tellers, with Scorsese and Tarantino. Considering the volume of work (episodes vs films), maybe better than those guys.

There are silver linings. Seat Grijalva, release the Epstein files, help out SNAP families, restore travel so people can fly for Thanksgiving, and revisit the ACA subsidy in January after MAGA has experienced the pain of their higher health premiums for two months.

I wish I had had the courage to stay short… I got burned last January, and vowed not to go short again. I guess I wasn’t wrong, just early (maybe the same thing).

With the White House probably going blue, and the Senate possibly going blue, does this scare Thomas, Alito, or Roberts into retiring over the next 12 months? A blue Senate could have big ramifications for SCOTUS.
