Well, whaddaya know? They finally figured it out. Trump's consistently done this sort of stuff for years and NPR finally put it together. Wild statements and ridiculous threats are part and parcel of Trump's negotiating tactics--demand 10 times what you want to get what you REALLY want.

This has been common knowledge in the Black community for decades. When Kamala Harris was California Attorney General, she defied a court order to release prisoners because that would hurt the prison-industrial complex.
It's one reason so many Black people voted for Trump.
