i wish it weren't the case, but there are really only 3 trans people i trust to give me actual feedback. maybe 4 now because you understand the frustrations, but i don't really post photos to here, so that is a moot point. also, a lot of trans women are bad at the "i love this but..." statements.

while it does happen with cis folks, it's way more common in trans spaces. i feel like some of it has to do with other trans people being hyper aware of anything that might cause dysporia and instinctively (and often unconsciously) avoid those things.

i feel this deeply. it took a while, but i've finally trained my friends to actually give feedback instead of flattery when i ask for it. it's kind of important to receive the correct information when i need it and not a meaningless confidence boost that puts higher up to be torn down from.

that does legitimately work. sure, it's a bit annoying for all parties, but it does keep you at the top of their minds when there is and does, occasionally, bump you up on waitlist priority.
