Maybe I’ll try social networking again?
I made a security guard twitchy at the art museum yesterday and had to explain that I have so much hair that I effectively have no peripheral vision and have to look behind myself constantly to avoid bumping into people. Big curly hair problems.

Product I wish existed: a compact sublimation printer for photos like the Selphy that can print directly into the page of my journal. No added bulk from using sticker paper.

I need to pack for a 6 am departure for a week-long trip, which is why I’m drinking a Buzzball and watching the Curætion 25 concert recording.

Fountain pen friends, muting the keywords “erotic story” will clean today’s meme cruft out of your feed. Maybe the feed shouldn’t check alt text?

My planner has out-of-context quotes for every other day. December 9 was a doozy: “There are about 300 whale strandings a year in Japan. That means that one whale dies somewhere in Japan almost every day. I want people to know that.”

Uh-oh, Diamine has fun pigment inks in the InkVent lineup this year. I’ve been looking at those for my new 5-year journal. Maybe I’ll buy it after the new year when it goes on sale.

I got a dining room table three or four years ago. Husband and I finally bought dining room chairs after years of dragging our feet on it. Looking at our now-complete dining room set nudges me mentally closer to feeling like a Real Adult™.

Tomorrow is the big moving day! I’m really looking forward to the new house. It’s nice and we’ll have a lot more space.

While packing up my parrot’s stuff for boarding I discovered that Past Self has decided to keep a bag loaded with perches and toys for boarding in the future. Thank you Past Self! Saved me several minutes. I’ll keep it up for Future Self.

I've destroyed 2 pens in 2 weeks. I apparently used too sticky tape when changing the a Safari nib and wasn't paying attention, ripping the whole feed out. I'm pretty sure I subtly damaged it. Today I separated part of the barrel on a Zebra midliner pulling the cap off. Neither can be reassembled.

For the fountain pen fans: my local bookstore is doing the InkVent thing and providing book recommendations inspired by the ink.
We thought we'd do something fun for Inkvent this year! As we share our color swatches, we'll be pairing them with a reading suggestion from our booksellers.

A limited number of Inkvent calendars are still available in store, so it's not too late to join the fun.

The impending move to a new house has exposed how my husband I and I have outgrown our existing space and how it’s been getting on my nerves.

Good news! One of the trainers in my strength class spontaneously told me I'm ready to move up to the next level. I'll probably do that in January.

I've been unsuccessful at trying to do this on my own and one-on-one personal training. The small group class format has worked out so well for me.
There were only two people in my strength training class this morning so we got more attention and my instructor stepped up the intensity. I barely made it through and have reevaluated my estimate of when i’ll be able to move up to the next level.

I’ve never seen my bagel place get totally cleaned out before! It’s only 1 pm and it‘s the main bakery so especially surprising. I got lucky as they’d just baked more everything bagels.

I think of this every time I see an incredibly overstuffed Hobonichi that's bursting at the seams. All of the Wheel of Time books rebound into a giant wheel.

Fountain pen friends, what are your favorite A6 notebooks for journaling? I’m thinking of prioritizing compactness for 2026. Bonus if sheen is visible.

Right now I’m considering a Mnemosyne lined journal. I really like their paper.

Husband and I have keys to our rental! I'm going to have an office with a door! My parrot is going to have a space that's more integrated with the main part of the house and it has bigger windows and I can fill it with plants! I'm very excited!

I took a wreath-making class today. I’m happy with how it came out! I need to make some tweaks and put on the bow still.

I'm pleased to announce that I have finally fully emptied a bottle of Diamine InkVent ink! Bliss, which was my favorite from the collection.

I bought a Steam Deck months ago because there was too much contention for the gaming computer when I was playing Oblivion remastered. Amazing side effect: almost no simulator sickness!

I'm tempted to try Obduction again. It reduces me to laying on the floor after 30 minutes.

I've started journaling my adventures in Subnautica. It helps me keep track of what I'm doing, immerse myself more deeply (haha), and use up fountain pen ink. I write out objectives for my next session at the end of every entry. I wish I'd thought of this when playing Oblivion; it's fun!
