I'm going to try to beat it, but you can tell the game wasn't balanced or intended 100% for fun at single player.

Threw together a PC in pcpartpicker with similar specs and size for about $1200, so I'm not really surprised. If you really optimized explicit parts, bought used, etc, you could probably go cheaper but RAM pricing being fucked kind of ruins everything.
