I have only 2 complaints about using iOS. The first is how sometimes you can automatically trigger a scroll to top event when performing a back navigation. The second complaint is they could so easily fix it by blocking scroll to top events for a few milliseconds when a back navigation is triggered.

Tap the # icon in the upper right corner. In the Search input under Discover new feeds, type in “cat pics” and hit that + icon. You’re welcome.

Bluesky offers great tools to customize the content you see in your feed. First tap the ☰ icon in the upper left to expose the slide-out menu. Next tap Settings. And finally tap on Moderation. If you don’t want to see posts with certain words or phrases, you can mute them using these tools.

For my social media Advent calendar I planned on adding a new word or phrase to my mute list each day. I ended up stopping after day four having achieved hope, peace, joy, and love. Now I want to share this gift with everyone.

Day 1: “trump”
Day 2: “musk”
Day 3: “hegseth”
Day 4: “kash”

Tired of squished, overly-indented replies in your feed?

Tap the ☰ menu and go to Settings > Content and media > Thread preferences. Under the Experimental section, turn off Show replies in a threaded view.
