Families with intersex children seeking asylum must be protected from harm! The CM/Rec(2025)7 calls for measures to protect intersex asylum seekers and provide them with access to adequate reception conditions and healthcare.

IGM negatively impacts #intersex people's ability to participate in sports at all levels. We welcome that CM/Rec(2025)7 recommends that CoE Member States ensure intersex people can participate in sports free from discrimination.

Yesterday, Oct 8 2025, the European Commission published its second LGBTIQ+ Equality Strategy. OII Europe welcomes the adoption of the Strategy, but regrets that while the Strategy puts forward important measures, it lacks specific measures for #intersex rights.

Today on October 7th, in a watershed moment, the Council of Europe’s 46 Member States have unanimously adopted the Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers to Member States on Equal Rights for #Intersex Persons, setting a new gold standard in Europe. Read the full PR here: bit.ly/4gWrr9X

Yesterday, on September 17th, the EU’s FRA published a new report Being Intersex in the EU, shedding light on the intersectional experiences of 1920 intersex people across the EU, and issuing recommendations to Member States.
