It's cute how close Americans are getting to the understanding that the US military industrial complex and the entire idolisation of corporate profit ahead of all else is, just maybe, not great. I'm a capitalist but I can see it's not binary - America seems to be unable to see the nuance.
Insane article. The vast majority of this increase is because we were exposed to burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s our generation’s agent orange.

I know some people will be disappointed with the election results, but there are a few hopeful notes: (i) the far right got absolutely decimated (ii) a big amount of the "old guard" are out and replaced by new blood, so even though it'll likely be the same parties the internal makeup is new.

I'm not sure I understand the commentary around how quick the campaign period was - the election was held only 1 week before the maximum period allowed so why do SF keep saying they'd have done better with 2 more weeks? It wasn't short, it was fairly average #ge24

Dublin Central - I would be surprised if I'm wrong here, but Donohoe vote distribution in the next count will go mainly to Sherlock. I don't think Hutch gets more than 150 transfers out of the 1k+ total transfers. #ge24

ECB would seem to have a dilemma here with news of slower economic growth and inflation back on the rise. Economically this would seem to be a negative output issue, so potentially we will need to suffer higher inflation in the short term to fuel long-term economic growth, which is deflationary.
