THIS. I have countless incredible men with incredible stories that I want to share, some arguably more dramatic and interesting than Hezekiah's. The key difference is The Photo. For so many of the others I got nothing, even after years of trying. Perhaps a sketch for some. They're a tough sell.

Agree! I asked Disney's PR team over and over if they could pitch some 'true history' features for the show publicity campaign. They've ignored me at every turn & let senior show makers make stuff up instead, basically. I'm so happy that the public have sought facts out on their own initiative! 😊

Personal excitement aside, generally I just find it SO cool that so many people watched a great drama and wanted to know true histories. Shows the power of these things! Inspire people and then they dig deeper, and then they might get inspired too, and so on. More history! From more people!

I've never written much on Smith at all on the blog as I've tried to focus on lesser known characters (and he was the champion!). Think I will post about Ann Smith especially at some point soon though, that's a good call. It will also be in the book next year, keen to get wife stuff in!
