Most of the measures that the Founding Fathers saw as illegitimate ‘taxes’ were in fact import tariffs. Their demand was ‘no tariffs’. Framers’ intent matters in legal arguments? And the burden of Trump II’s measures is about 8x more harsh than the burden that sparked a revolution 250 yrs ago.

Harming the US economy through inefficient and inequitable taxation, thrashing the rule of law, reducing the price ofUS$, and increasing isolation of the US economically and politically … this does not add up to ‘imperialism.’ Trump enables Putin’s imperialism.
