I got a C in "Citizenship" (which was our 70s version of deportment) in 3rd grade and the teacher underlined "Accepts responsibility" to indicate that I was lacking. And it was true. And I'm still salty about that mark, but I do recognize that trait in myself and try to be better about it.

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the day we got a beloved dog who died too soon at age 10, and I looked at his picture and burst into tears and wept all morning. My current (beloved) dog was very worried that I'd lost my mind. I was a little worried, too. Things have been...a lot.
