We need a centralized system to track deaths caused by disruptions to public health, both in the U.S. and globally.
I worry the true toll will be massive.

I wrote this thread 4 months ago. After yesterday's massacre of the public health workforce, this is more true than ever. If we are faced with a major public health crisis, it would be catastrophic without our public health infrastructure, which is now being actively dismantled.👇🏾

It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

Measles isn’t just a rash. Sure it can be sometimes, but it can also lead to death.
