The Price of Freedom by A.C. Crispin - an excellent tie-in novel for the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Collected because I love it so much and because the print version is very rare. The edition sent to me by the kind soul who took my offer on ebay had the original receipt inside the front cover from when they bought it in 2011. Curses, Inc. by Vivian Vande Velde - I was smitten with this cover art ever since I saw it on Tumblr years and years back. It's the banner image on my profile and my profile pic in a few different places. I'll probably read the book too, but I primarily bought it for the wonderful cover illustration by Tristan Elwell. Middle Earth Quest: A Spy in Isengarde, a gamebook by Terry K. Amthor - same reason as Curses, Inc. really. I am hopelessly charmed by wizard pondering orb (aka Saruman), illustrated here by Angus McBride. Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition Encyclopedia Magica Volume 1 - this book holds the famous "dawizard" and "wizard" typos that made it to print. I got it to keep me humble and to have a piece of ttrpg history that I thought for a long time was just apocryphal lore.

My angel of a mother-in-law made me a Sharp-themed hat after he shipped. Here is her incredible beadwork. It being a baseball cap especially tickled me cuz of the many "women want me/fish fear me" hats I imagined Sharp wearing after the team settled on his non-combat perk.

3 years ago today, companions systems designer (& one of my favorite people) Carrie said she was turning on Sharp's "brain"--he would start responding/reacting to things in game. In my mind, this day became his birthday. I ended up referencing it in his lore.

Decided to do #NaNoWriMo this year entirely on a whim. Only made it about halfway to 50k, but unlike all the years that I finished before, I'm really pleased with where this story is headed and plan to stick with it beyond this sprint.

Actually. Just realized there were 37 returns on "heartbeat" (singular) for the entire trilogy. So that's like 12 times per book. Mabe it was an editorial mandate and Andor's "No more than 12" is actually a reference to that

Look we gotta give him credit for paring it down from "a handful of heartbeats" in the first half of the book to just "a pair" for most of the rest.
Tho he does put in one more "handful" near the end. As a treat

Just curious if any of these moments you mentioned made it into the game? Into Charybdis is on my TBR list but The Cold Forge gave me nightmares (complimentary) and WOW there was so much in there I would love to experience as a player
Question from interviewer Paul Semel: So, how did you come on Alien: Rogue Incursion? Answer from Alex White: They really liked both of my novels. When the team reached out to me, they gushed about how many the moments from my books they wanted to replicate in gameplay. I found it deeply flattering, and it was my first ever Los Angeles writers room.
