Absolutely!! I had to learn that capitalism does not really care about “smart people” or “dumb people” or “merit”. Sadly, it’s all about profits & short-term gains. In one of his books, John Perkins used the term “death economy” to describe the world we in - long term sustainability suffers.

Thanks @scott.hanselman.com !! I do believe that developers should try donate to open source projects. It’s unfair to cry when an open source project opts for commercialisation when users have not tried to support these projects. I made a small donation to an open source project a month ago.

Sorry to hear you have to deliver bad news. Unfortunately, this is the reality today; stable jobs don't exist anymore. Employees need to prioritise their health and financial well-being. I haven't been laid off, but I do expect this to happen to me at some point in my career. Stay strong people!

Seeing this only now but there are repeated segments of the plotted line chart. Pretty bizarre that someone would do this and it would pass the peer-review process. I kinda get why this happens (reviewers are incentivised, and advanced tools to detect fraud might not be as available). No shame!!

The pundits didn’t lie when they said Poilievre was at risk of losing his seat. Still gagged! So many independents ran at his riding - not sure if that was to protest Poilievre or the first-past-the-post electoral system in general. Very interesting outcome. his rhetoric and slogans were A LOT!

Well answered! Yes, creating content does take time. I also feel many people nowadays want to see a quick 2 minute video instead of reading a 30 min - 1 hr paper or article that delves into details (the background, the solution, shortcomings, etc.). Yes, 2025 has been on shaky ground so far :-(
