They finished real strong last year, 22-5 after the All-Star game... March 16 will be 44 weeks since JT's injury... That would be a very fast recovery...

Somehow I started thinking about the Walton Blazers championship team and ended up on Basketball Reference, as defending champs they were 50-10 at the time Walton got hurt and clearly the best team in the NBA, it's a shame what could have been for that group.

Yes, it is a great book about an overlooked period of the NBA that I am old enough to remember, Halberstram's books, The Fifties that chronologically covers the 10 years of the 50's and Summer of 49 about the 1949 pennant race between the Red Sox and the Yanks are also excellent and recommended...
