Today begins the Chinese New Year - year of the Horse. It’s also the first day of Ramadan on the Islamic Calendar. It’s also Mardi Gras for partying Christians (mostly Catholics), signalling the first day of Lent.

All derived from Lunar cycles.

We’ve reached that time in late-Winter where one leaves work at 5:30pm and is pleasantly surprised to see it’s still light out.

To the King’s Theatre, where we saw “Midsummer’s Night’s Dream,” which I had never seen before, nor shall ever again, for it is the most insipid ridiculous play that ever I saw in my life. I saw, I confess, some good dancing and some handsome women, which was all my pleasure.

It’s been a year since Hurricane Helene. Here’s a video that United Methodist News put together covering an Emergency Response Team I was a part of in Nov 2024 in Spruce Pine, NC.

After reviewing my training plan, I realized I only have to run six miles tomorrow morning rather than the seven I’d thought This I making me unreasonably, giddily happy. #MarathonTraining

Please help support me as I start training for my first marathon! I would appreciate any donations you can provide to the Organization for Autism Research, which is a charity that means a lot to me.

Due to hectic family life I’m usually several weeks behind on any given series of #DoctorWho. Today I got spoiled on the season finale. Not by social media or news feeds, but by a well meaning co-worker who isn’t even a fan themselves, but knew I am and just wanted to make friendly chit-chat. *sigh*

If you bring me a mint condition book to sign I will happily do it and chat with you and we'll have a very nice time. If you bring me a jacked up copy with coffee stains, water damage, and dogeared pages I will embrace you like family cause that mean that book was a companion in your life

Late night 9 mile run. The end of year kids activities are blowing up the usual schedule and claiming all the weekends so I’m just carving out running time where I can. I figured this was my best chance to get a long run in this week.

I had a great race this morning at the #ActiveForAutism5K in Alexandria, VA. It was a really well organized event for a great cause. And I won my age group! @RUNFORAUTISM
