While I agree Medicare Advantage is not worth it and a bit of a scam, some plans provide a grocery allowance that typically ranges from ~$25 to $200 per month, depending on the plan. So when you suddenly take that away from a number of people, now all those people are struggling to afford food.

that's the beauty of traditional medicare. it's available to everyone 65 or older no matter what.
