But I just don't understand why people think discord is the way to go with publishing their projects. Sure I understand the major reasons but it just sucks because there will be no way to enjoy these games should something happen with discord.

And come to discover that the QR code leads to a discord server that no longer exists? Then they lose out on being able to experience that really cool labor of love you made for your favorite game themselves and to be honest that sucks because I see these games and I'm amazed by them.

Discord is if anything a temporary repository for this kind of stuff since Discord links can expire or servers can be taken offline for any number of reasons. Fans see things like Kaze's F3 fan game presentations and want to play these but if they see these presentations long after the fact
