It's pretty implausible that there could be a corpus of text containing correct answers and correct reasoning to such a range of questions and problems as to be generally applicable to any question or problem. Calling it "reasoning" is a sleight of hand that in no way describes what is occurring.

"Reasoning models" would be far more accurately described as "post hoc justification" models. Reasoning is like "hallucination": an anthropomorphic term that obscures what LLMs really do. There's still no truth involved.
