The second US Civil War has already begun. We have already seen the beginning of a 'hot phase' with the ICE murders. The Trump regime will attempt to rig the elections and we will have to choose if our comfort is worth living under tyranny. I hope we choose to fight.

Unfortunately,the USA is just returning to historical norms. The US has always had problems with racism and white supremacy and it was openly accepted prior to the 1960s. We thought we had made progress, but it is obvious that white America is looking for someone to blame for their economic problems

Good piece. IMO, humanity is probably going to fail big time and I don't believe it will be all that long into the future. The only thing holding the status quo is nuclear weapons. How long will it be before a man or an AI believes it can change the status quo or hold it by using these weapons?

The republic has ended Robert. The regime openly disobeys the law and there is nothing the Congress or the Courts can do about it. Things appear to move quickly, but in reality, the republic has been rotting for decades.

The USA is becoming one the most dangerous nations on earth. The country is broke and being out competed by China. We would lose a long conventional war with the Chinese. IMO, the MAGA walnuts would threaten or use nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are the only thing keeping the status quo.

This is a consequence of corruption. Almost any economic system can work, but in the end, they all fail due to corruption. In our case, we have crony capitalism which in many aspects is unrestrained. The rich buy the political system and then write the laws to benefit themselves.
