A potato.
3rd quilt of winter break is a ton of appliqué and throws you right back to the 1930s.

Two quilts done. One is already where it will be gifted, the other needs a trim up/defurring then it'll head to the post office. Third one maybe gets started tomorrow. Or maybe I find and finish an old project...or try and recreate Mom's old sunbonnet sue.

Cut out pieces for three quilts this weekend and I have two more on their way. I may have a minor obsession.

My dog has a healthy love of catching frisbees, and an utter loathing of putting them down. She reaches a point where she just smacks them out of the air and stomps on them.

I may have gotten myself an ankarsrum mixer for my birthday to replace my aging kitchenaid.

I made baked beans. I started yesterday and finished now, and they're delicious.

I just realized I have a pie-heavy garden. I have apple trees, lemon trees, pear trees, gooseberry bushes, strawberries, and pizza plants (tomato, garlic, peppers, onion, basil, oregano).

I don't know how they do it, but somehow boys manage to find the one lego gun I managed to miss in a 20 gallon tub of mixed lego.

I'm looking for a kiddie pool for my dog and all of the pictures online are for these sedate labs sitting quietly. My dog digs at her pool like the water has mortally offended her.

47 bags of dirt later, both raised beds are filled.

It's a bathrub full of tulips. I don't really recall planting tulips here, but I must've because here they are.

Saw a stainless steel dumpster at the grocery store with a Toyota decal on the front. Not sure who they think they're fooling...

This is your reminder that interfering with the flow of traffic is dangerous. A driver on a major thoroughfare in my town waved a woman to come out of a driveway, where she t-boned my elderly neighbors. In trying to be nice, one driver wrecked two cars, potentially injured three people.

Went to my local fabric store today and found a gorgeous silver cotton lawn with pink branches for $15 a yard. As much as I loved the novelty prints at Joann, they never would have had something like this, or at that price.

I'm three days into spring break, and I've made three skirts, half a dress, and a raised bed. Just now, I put the metal gazebo back in place after the last wind storm blew it 20 feet, and put out some clover seed. Oh, and put out the garden swings.

First spray of the season for my apple trees. I'm trying to get good at orchards before my school resurrects theirs.

Finished my first sock in years. Now I need to start the second.

Did a little quick math and I have plenty of space to grow enough wheat to keep my house in bread through our inevitable societal collapse.

This is Eskel. One night, I dreamt that I took him to PetSmart and he was so good sitting up in the cart that an employee complemented him and asked his name. My cat puffed with pride and announced, "My name is Eskel! H-E-S-K-E-L-E!" And I was horrified that my little boy misspelled his own name.

The same guy who exploded two rockets in recent history, launched a car into space for shit and grins, and whose self driving car technology crashes on the regular is somehow going to *fix* the FAA? That'll go well.

I will never be surprised by how some people are unwilling to do the bare minimum to help protect others. It snowed here last night, and as I brushed the snow off the roof of the car, I remembered a Ravelry thread where a woman said she was blinded on the road when a sheet of snow blew off of a car.

When the temperature fluctuates wildly, it presents the opportunity to make a cast of my dog's footprint in the mud.

We could've had dignity and progress. Instead, we got Shitler and Twitler.

My mom wanted tofu parmesan and the only bread crumbs we had were four years past date. I toasted a slice of sourdough, whizzed that in a mini food processor, pan toasted them dry, mixed with Italian seasoning and parmesan. These are now the only breadcrumbs allowed.
