I think they know the "tariff income" will be used to supplement "The Big Farmers".
The poor ones will sell to the Oligarchs.
The rest of us will pay higher prices, forcing us to ask for raises, making the Oligarchs accuse us of having our hands out...

Someone is suspected of breaking a law: the DOJ seeks permission to investigate/charge.
That is how the law works.

The DOJ does its job.
The opposing party doesn't like it, so it brings charges with no proof
THAT IS POLITIZATION!
