I even looked into 28mm scale historical minis.
I can put up with everything being smaller since 40K is 28mm "heroic" (means it's an exaggerated size), but there's no real options beyond rifles for troops.

Victoria minis look great, and have easy access to plenty of units, but at those prices, I might as well get GW.
Wargame Atlantic's Bulldogs have potential, but the heavy weapon teams, Rough Riders, etc, are only in STLs.

Victoria minis look great, and have easy access to plenty of units, but at those prices, I might as well get GW.

But they either work out as expensive as GW or have massive gaps for certain units/weapons.

Going off of the old minibot set there's only one missing, Bad Boy.
I'd like a 2 pack with Bad Boy and a newer Bug Bite, but I don't think we'll get that.
