Watching the grandson of President Carter eulogize the very human and humorous side of his grandfather, the absence of any smile or positive response on the face of the President elect stands out. There’s nothing like a funeral to reveal one’s total lack of humor, compassion, and empathy.

Wrote to my senator (Vance) urging him to consider the Marine’s motto, “Semper Fi” and recruiting pitch, “a few good men” in evaluating Hegseth as potential Defense Secretary: is he one of those few good and always faithful men the U.S. Marines would be proud to call one of their own?
