I've boycotted Starbuck's since they started, because their business plan was to open a shop right next to a locally owned, independent coffee place and beat the prices (because of volume) until the local place shut down.

Thank you for all your great information! But it would be really awesome if people/groups would not adopt the Republican framing of "food stamps" which is an outdated term. SNAP or EBT or even something like "help with groceries" would be much better. EBT cards came out over 25 years ago!

American culture (when I was growing up) taught us that our worth was entirely tied to our ability to appeal to white men, which made every other woman "the competition" and not anyone with whom we should seek solidarity. Patriarchal "divide and conquer" (or "divide and maintain" power).
