I'll be glad to take a box of winter. Our winter here in Dallas seems to have forgotten what it was doing and wandered off. Next Wednesday, one forecast calls for 32C.

First condition should be justice for all war crimes committed against Ukraine and its people. When Russia is ready to talk about THAT, then we can have "peace talks." Until then, it is just more international dog and pony shows.

Russia's war is three wars:
1. Invaders in trenches;
2. Serial killers, murdering civilians outside of combat zones using drones, missiles, and bombs, as in this case;
3. Monsters in basements, engaging in terror, torture, rape, and murder in occupied territories.
All to feed Russian bloodlust.

They're not "bad," they're just dangerous. It's not like the planes want to kill people. I'm not a bad person either, but you don't want me to be piloting your airplane.

I am jealous of your bookstores, and of the empty spaces on your bookshelves. Amazon is a wonderful thing for buying books. Boundless selection, effortless purchasing, e-books that take no room on the shelf, but I haven't been in a bookstore, except at Christmas, for many years.

Ukraine The Latest podcast a few days ago (5 feb) had a spot on claims of Russian pigeon bio-drones.

Someone said recently, "Putin wants negotiations but does not want to negotiate."

Thank you for checking in. Here in Dallas, spring is visiting already, 28C today. If the forecasts are to be believed, it will be heading your way around the weekend. We will get back to sensible February temps and you will finally start to thaw. Hoping that 2026 will start being different.

Italian PM Georgia Meloni has a wonderful way of using her face to express her feelings about Orban. You should emulate.

We need 20,000 people in the stands wearing a hat with those photos. etc.

Russian far east saying "please notice me." When there's 6000km of Russian crazy between you and Moscow, you gotta do stuff or be forgotten.

Ignorant Russians, who don't know what Ukrainian sounds like, frequently assume that they are hearing Polish when they hear Ukrainian.

1:30 am here in Texas. I hope you've slept well. Blessings on the heroes who push back against the cold and dark. Looking forward to less ferocity in your weather soon.

As small joys go, this is a pretty big one. And somebody is going to have to walk instead of drive. Just beautiful.

Russian list more like
1. We want to kill all Ukrainians.
2. We want all Ukrainian land.
3. We want all the money.
4. The above will not be enough.

One of my happy memories from recent days is of when you discovered that making #warcoffee using your power bank only consumed 5% of its charge. I continue to be amazed by the powers of your infrastructure wizards. Thanks for checking in.

The truck has a driver. When his children ask, "What did you do in the war, daddy?" he will answer, "I drove a truck that carried away the broken pieces of peoples homes." That is one of the sad stories. Perhaps soon, he will drive a truck to bring new windows.

Gerasimov should have to stand in the same spot, or else shut his mouth.

In spite of all the chaos, there is something in the world which is back in its proper place. The bookstore, the coffee cup, and the friend.
