Eh...Don't put stuff online.
Use phones to arrange in-person meetings with people you know.
Come up with short codes you can use over the phone, or in texts, in those meetings.
Don't let anyone have enough knowledge that it can compromise a whole network.

Then why the fuck are you telling people it is ideal to use Signal?

There has been no uprisings in the USA since the Civil War, so where are you pretending you live?
January 13, 2026 at 10:23 PM
Dude, you are directing people to a specific app that is no safer, and may very well be less safe, than a lot of other apps.
Maybe think a bit about what you are doing, instead of getting off on telling people what to do.
January 13, 2026 at 10:12 PM
Signal is no safer than WhatsApp.
I don't know why people in the US are so obsessed with it.
January 13, 2026 at 9:39 PM
Eh...police in Europe are arresting criminal gangs based on what they post on Signal.
I very much doubt it is safe to use.
The safe thing to do, is just take for granted nothing you do on your smart phone, or computer is secret.

It is not an isolated incident.
Law enforcement in the US kill people all the time.

Germany was never occupied by the Nazis, and had to act differently to countries that were.

A lot of Nazis got away to the US, to work for the government there.
Some of them should have been executed.
January 11, 2026 at 3:42 PM
I know not every single one was prosecuted, and that caused later issues, and is why you have to prosecute every single one to solve the problem
January 10, 2026 at 6:38 PM
Look to how the parts of Western Europe that were occupied in 1940-45 handled it.
You need to prosecute people; every single fascist needs to be taken to court.

I found the incident I was thinking about: www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/the...

There is also the Balham Tube disaster, which is much easier to find by googling.
The Northern Line tunnel – bombed and flooded in 1940 – and still sealed shut
Just before midnight on the 9th September 1940, sailors up on deck of the cargo sailing ship, Seven Seas were watching an air raid by German bombers over the Charing Cross railway bridge when an explo...

Parts of the underground got flooded during WWII, because if a bomb.
It was one of the tunnels under the Thames.
I will see if I can find more info after work today, if you want.

I think Jago Hazzard on YouTube made a video mentioning it.
His channel has LOADS of London Underground stuff.

I don't know what to do today.
Or, more specifically, I don't know what to do to move forward with X today.
You are basically telling me you have hit a dead end.

I grew up in Norway, with lots of both UK and US entertainment.
I've lived in the UK for 12 years.
December 31, 2025 at 1:53 AM
Yes, but that is a confusion deliberately created by tech-industry PR.
I'd argue that we need to fight them on the naming front too.
December 29, 2025 at 3:30 PM
But, we already have better words:
Generative Algorithm for LLMs.
Image Generators, are obvious.
Spellcheck, predictive texts, grammar checkers, rendering software, etc.

The names are already there.
Using AI as an umbrella term, or making up new names with AI in them is not needed.
December 29, 2025 at 3:10 PM
Sorry, but I have seen it used for General AI multiple times, so it has more than one meaning.

Which is why my main point is not to use "AI" when what is being named is not AI, it is just adding confusion.
December 29, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Anyway, I see you completely ignored the point about the SF usage, so I can tell you are not interested in an honest conversation about this.
December 29, 2025 at 1:04 PM
No, they have not.
They have been called AI by the games industry and some gamers.
That is jargon, not common usage.
December 29, 2025 at 1:01 PM
But, GenAI means General AI, aka the SF definition of AI, does it not?
At least I have seen it used as that.

Using AI on any non-AI is not helping.
December 29, 2025 at 12:59 PM
Until LLMs came along "everybody" knew what AI was from SF.
It is irrelevant if the term has been used differently in computing, as common usage trumps that.
AI does not currently exist, and some experts doubt it ever will.
December 29, 2025 at 1:11 AM
Completely disagree.
Both because most people know what AI is from SF, and because that is exactly what the tech industry is trying to do.
December 29, 2025 at 1:07 AM
Generative Algorithms describes LLMs and Image Generators, and I don't see why people don't use that instead of the tech industry's PR term "AI".
Most other things we talk about are Analytical Algorithms.

I think AI should keep its SF definition.
Which means it does not currently exist IRL.
