We found cytoplasmic flows, that emerge specifically in anaphase and move chromosomes! We combined experiments and theory to show that flows scale purely by cell confinement and ultimately scale anaphase!

New paper alert! ‼️‼️
Super happy to share that my postdoc paper is finally out!

1/3 We looked at scaling of chromosome separation during anaphase in zebrafish embryos.

This was a really amazing experience! With super interesting discussions and a very interdisciplinary group! Looking forward for the next physics of early divisions!

Had a great time this week with a wonderful group of researchers at our workshop on the physics of early embryonic cell divisions! Big thanks to everyone there, i.e. Johanna, Frank, Laura and Adam from @biologists.bsky.social, and to my co-organizer @kamenzlab.bsky.social! Let’s do this again!
