Lovely and weird to briefly be the poster boy for a winter ultra. Highly recommend the Goat if you're up for a challenge.

On today's run I did a sub 4 minute kilometre.

Hardly Bannister, but not too shabby considering.

The last 200m was a grim hang on, blowing out my arse. Seconds really do stretch when you're in the red.

Ballot was entered on my birthday so it's definitely a nice nod from the universe.

First summer ultra in 6 or 7 years too, can't wait.

Last night Anna Troup won the ladies race of Race Across Scotland, finishing 4th overall.

This after outright winning the summer Spine Race in June.

After nearly 3 years out with injury.

Oh, and she's 55 for anyone thinking age makes the slightest difference in ultra events.

Yesterday Dan Lawson set a new record for the South West Coast Path.

You may not have heard much about his attempt because he's a low key kinda guy.

630 miles.
Over 35,000 metres of elevation gain.
Blistering heat.
Under 10 days.

Simply incredible.
