The Heartbreak Bakery by AR Capetta

Another cute queer YA romance with characters of all sexualities and genders. And if you’ve read this thread you know I love baking as a theme and this one doesn’t disappoint.

3 Both Can Be True by Jules Machias

A sweet story w a splash of sadness about 2 young people figuring out issues around gender in very different ways. I love how gender is written about this book. I choked up multiple times reading this book. They bond over their struggles & a sweet sad lil dog.

Update:

I’m really confident about how the interview went and am more confident I would love this position and excel in it. At one point I thought I rambled but the interviewer seemed impressed and expressed that my ramble answered a lot of the questions he had for me. I’ll find out next week. 🤞🤞🤞

2) She Of the Mountains by Vivek Shraya

This book weaves a retelling of Hindu mythology with a modern love story. Deep, emotional and thought provoking. The modern story paints a picture of queerness unlike any I’ve ever read. I will be purchasing this one for my shelf.

Update:
Interviewer was sick and had to reschedule.

I’m not mad tho because consistently every interview I’ve had that’s resulted in a job has had some sort of unavoidable scheduling hiccup. So my pattern recognition heavy brain is taking it as a good sign. I don’t lean too heavily on it but🤞🤞🤞🤞
