“It's not clear if this happens locally or requires a connection to the MusicAI servers” - it’s local, on device

TIL i moved pretty much next door to the epicentre of Berlin School Electronic Music in the 1970s. Where Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze recorded some classic albums www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xe4...

Very impressed with the long-form structure and genre coherence.

With the SKIA backend in iPlug2, it's pretty easy to just drop in shaders (SKIA has it's own SkSL shading language which is like GLSL).

This one that was recently shared to the skia mailing list is pretty cool. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUsF...

GPT-4-0 Imagegen is good for UI assets, icons etc as well as memes. Can do transparency, etc. Even makes knobs that go to 11:

They both helped me with my various projects. It's sad that I won't get to show them what I've been working on for many years.

RIP Angelo Farina, who developed the sine sweep technique used widely for IR capture in convolution reverbs amongst other things. A few weeks ago we also lost Dave Malham, a former colleague who developed HOA/Ambisonics theory in the 90s, and was a friend of prof Farina.
Audio Engineering legends.

I tried it. It's impressive, especially using dictation. Was a bit slow. Music it made me was meh.. but it was fun having claude start playback, then after bring in new clips it wrote, which were of course- on the beat grid. Will be interesting to see where this goes!

Obviously not. Don’t know about their political statements but AFAIK they were meant to play at the Nova festival on oct 7th FFS

agree. Surprised it is this easy to upload music to a DSP using a well known band's name though

Although it is used by Chromium etc, Dawn is a cross platform GPU abstraction - it doesn't have anything todo with web-based GUIs

I doubt that would be added to SkSL, but Skia has a WebGPU backend via DAWN. It should be possible to use WGSL for such things. I hope to update iPlug2 to use the WebGPU backend of Skia soon
