I mistakenly read this as "Alien says that Earth’s beefy tablets were inspired by Sony’s classic Watchman," and thought to myself, "Not what I expected as a paying subscriber to The Verge, but I'll give it a click..."

this is a helpful reminder for me to finish reading the series with my kids... Their fave so far is still anything with the Nac Mac Feegles...

as a non-engineer whose only recent coding experience is learning Python to create ML projects, it's strange to think there could be an alternate world where you *don't* have endless versioning issues like this...

This is the first thing I have ever seen that has really tempted me to create a TikTok account. It is perfect.

Does the London Bagel Museum in Seoul count?

I trust your reasoned analysis of this nuanced policy proposal, @mnolangray.bsky.social. Also, a gondola in L.A. seems pleasantly ridiculous.

Let's go, Gondola Project! 🚠🚠🚠

Curious to see what you decide on and how it goes.

Is this just for local inference with batch_size=1? Or something more elaborate?

I think the AI Snake Oil guys are right that a big part of the problem is that the term "AI" is way too mushy and broad. (like "vehicle" for cars, bikes, trains, cruise ships.)

Another big part of the problem is bad faith and/or ax-to-grind folks who like to yell online.
