Why are the Department of Communications creating email addresses and then not monitoring them? I don't think it's acceptable, even if you send out notifications. Automated systems can go back years and may still use them. I do think bureaucrats don't understand IT. #auspol

Music from Uni days... I had to be stoned? No wonder all my prog rock records now just sound boring (except Pink Floyd).

Against a blurry background image of an audio mixing desk sits, at a jaunty angle, the square cover image for a podcast, looking a bit like an album cover. The text reads: Another Untitled Music Podcast with Stilgherrian and Snarky Platypus.

Banking Day's coverage of the troubles at ANZ are really interesting, and not getting enough publicity. Support local media. www.bankingday.com/public/3ddb3...

A bit of a carpet bagger Mike Smith turned out to be.

The same Senator who calls for Gay Marches to be banned? On that basis he doesn't believe in Freedom of Speech.

One day he's there, and you say something slightly harsh and the next day he's gone and you never quite find out why. And no one else is quite as good a friend, or as caring. And then it gets worse.

I will of course be boycotting Marvel and Disney as soon as Alien Earth and Only Murders and the new Hickman series is over. Oh and the new Priest/Quesada black panther. On it! Fortunately I've nearly finished Say Nothing.

Austin on the ABC makes a big deal about how much he likes Doctor Who and yet they get Sylvester McCoy's name wrong (he gets carried McCauley). #doctorwhonerd

No Devops. Have to say this now because, well, things will change, probably in the next few hours. Enjoying the peace while I can.

Two years is a bit of a fail. My partner used to be asked for ID to go into pubs even in her late 20s.she only learned to drive at 40 and so never had an ID that was accepted.

It's only sparkling sarcasm if it comes from the sparkling regions of France otherwise you're just being petillant.

“Show me a list of Australian prime ministers since Robert Menzies, with their names and years in office under their portraits.”

ChatGPT –
A visual timeline titled "Prime Ministers of Australia Since Robert Menzies" featuring portraits of Australian Prime Ministers from 1949 to the present. Each portrait includes the leader's name and term dates. The sequence starts with Robert Menzies (1949–1968) and continues through to Anthony Albanese (2022-). Some date entries contain typographical errors, and Tony Abbott appears twice with different dates. The portraits of the prime ministers are also really bad, absolutely incorrect and totally fucked up e.g. Gough Whitlam looks like a Bob Hawke hybrid and Bob Hawke doesn’t even look like Bob Hawke. These images are a clear indication that AI hasn’t quite got it right just yet.

ASIC forced the banks to cut charges. When will they cut their own extortionate fees that are five times the cost of the service? #auspol

Not defending hiding it. Whether to hedge or not needs to be carefully considered for any exposure. Depending on how the market moves, it can look prescient or stupid. I'm aware of a firm that recently went broke for not hedging.

Only thing worse than hedging interest rates is not hedging interest rates...

If it's good enough for the Olympics for Chess to be a sport (cough, unofficial 1924), it's good enough for Tassie. At least they follow WADA. #politas
