I’m delighted to have contributed three hacks to that Nature piece "It’s a new term: here are 99 lab hacks", alongside so many great tips from the community. doi.org/10.1038/d415...

Social events don’t have to be boozy

Some colleagues might find alcohol-focused events off-putting or intimidating. Organize and support some social events that are alcohol-free to be more culturally inclusive. People will thank you for it. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Back when I was in high school, I remember being annoyed at scientific mistakes in the textbooks (specifically remember one about number of ATP). Now, as an experienced scientist, I spot even more, and I'm not the only one. 🧪

Textbooks often blur the lines between 'sea' and 'ocean,' missing key geological differences. Precise definitions help students grasp complex concepts, ensuring a solid foundation in earth sciences. doi.org/10.1038/d415...

Misusing terms like 'mass' and 'weight' in physics textbooks can confuse students about fundamental concepts. Clear distinctions are crucial for accurate understanding, as mass remains constant while weight varies with gravity. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
