also, i totally would’ve been a brony if i wasn’t already terminally online at the height of its popularity. cringe culture was really popping off at the same time the brony craze started, and i was afraid of being “cringe”.
little did i know i was cringe by default by being 12 years old.

i have been trying to wrap my head around something though. i’m not sure what made it so appealing to pre-teen/teen boys at the time. what was the thing(s) that made them so attached to this?

i love my job and i love serving the community, but sometimes it feels like i’m in one battle after another (not the movie)

so what’s unsuitable?
- books about gay marriage
- books that deal with any trans topics or have trans characters
- books with any LGBT topics
- books with nudity (examples below, yes i’m serious)
- books regarding the menstrual cycle.
there’s probably more that i’m forgetting but yeah.

to make a long story short, we’re doing an “inventory check” next week because the secretary of state demanded we remove any books he deems unsuitable in our children’s section. if we do not do this, he’s threatening to take our funding away.

the “i work with children” bit is not about my coworkers, but is supposed to be taken literally
