No but an academic course/employee exists in the context of the world today. Pocket calculators exist, computers exist, mobile phones exist, LLMs exist. LLMs are used to write grant proposals and academic papers. Other professionals are having to adapt to LLMs infiltrating their work too.

Your students will be using it whether you like it or not. Is it not better to at least inform them of the risks and guide them through the minefield? It's akin to not giving sex education in the hope that pupils will practice abstinence.
