I genuinely had no idea, before chatting with her, that courtroom artists are not actually allowed to sketch inside the courtroom in Britain. If they do, it's contempt. They also aren't guaranteed a seat in the courtroom, and their pics are often hurriedly drawn from memory on the kerb outside...

I mean that election was Cameron's all along, to be fair. But I do remember the scandal about Gordon Brown's cleaner! And of course Boris's birthday cake. Always rather low level scandal in GB politics, IMHO.

Interesting to contrast the UK - where within 48 hours a Deputy PM has lost her job after admitting she should have paid a bit more in stamp duty - with the US, where Trump spent 6 weeks in court, was found unanimously guilty of falsifying business records & then became President
