Fascinating xD

I believe that he is creating an innovative approach & that the trade war can create an opportunity to buy steel & lumber at govt scale for lower cost & use them for construction. That combined with investment in companies that can change the game & scale up +cutting regulations for specific builds.

Apologies for my crude language earlier. I could not fathom how a green party voter would consider voting cons but I see the rationale now. There are alot of people with unique perspectives but at the core is basic econ needs & the Liberals should not take any for granted. I think Carney can do it.
December 15, 2025 at 2:26 AM
I am very passionate abt this & I appreciate hearing your perspectives as you care abt it alot also too. I like that the Carney govt is trying to look at the problem in innovative ways & trying to move fast with things. They need to build the foundation to be able to also & I hope theyre on that.

But of course in Canada alot of regulations and zoning laws exist. It ill be upto BCH to focus on and create ways to simplify them to get things done faster.
December 15, 2025 at 2:17 AM
True that will be the key. We need to get wins quickly and motivate more construction that can be done faster and lower cost. I think prefab and some lower-cost apartment style housing complex communities (like Singapore) would work well. They have 80-90% housing ownership there. Thats the aim.

This is in BC. Avg asking rents across all property types in B.C. were down 6.8 per cent compared to November 2024. another 5-7% next yr (which they expecting, is a 15% drop in 2 yrs). some places rents have dropped upto 12% avg in BC this yr. Housing prices drop is abt 6% & same for next yr.
December 15, 2025 at 2:13 AM
Also he got it started in Aug I think and they have the first set of projects rolling another large set to be approve between Jan - March. I think focussing on lower cost & faster constr & reducing the regulations to enable that (a mandate of BCH) is going to be important and better than cons plan.
December 15, 2025 at 2:10 AM
True. But also housing prices are coming down and are expected have even more over supply next year. My thinking is that they should focus on low-cost and scale so that as many people can get ownership within 3 years. Including building housing that can rent for 25% below current market levels.
December 15, 2025 at 2:08 AM
are coming down now? Because Trudeau put a fk tonne of money into encouraging housing cons during covid but it took longer to finish. They are all coming online this year & next and housing prices will decline. Combine that with BCH innovation and economies of scale there is alot to be hopefuly for.
December 15, 2025 at 2:06 AM
The 10 year thing is BS. Housing was not that expensive until covid when it was the investment everyone went to. That was exacerbated by big immigration increase of immigration who could not travel during covid. Its a made up con lie that this was 10 yrs of failure. Do you know why housing prices ..
December 15, 2025 at 2:04 AM
What are you talking about? Housing prices around the country are dropping, including rents. I am looking to buy a home and we are looking at a 15% decline in prices by the end of next year in BC. They have started about 40k homes to be built over the next year and they are just getting started.
December 15, 2025 at 2:02 AM
I think the effeciency was scale but also due to lower demand from teh US and then combine that with innovative new housing models. I think its a refreshing and feasible approach to the housing problem. And yes supportive housing but also low-rent / low-cost housing construction innovation.
December 15, 2025 at 2:01 AM
Also, Housing is Carney's biggest and most important policy proposal. I have immense faith that he will make housing much more cost effective through govt scale and I think you will see that. If he does not I'd admit hed he a failure
December 15, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Im sorry but nothing you are saying makes sense. Pipeline has nothing to do with a house. Only people associated with the pipeline / fossil fuels will provide at more cost to our environment. And secondly that increases the demand for housing increasing prices. PP makes up shit but its all BS.
