Just rewatched Princess Mononoke (Hayao Miyazaki, 1997) for the first time in probably 20 years. My memory was of a sentimental environmentalist film, but this time I was struck by how angry and unsettling the film is. The moments of greatest pleasure are of righteous fury or the truly bizarre.
