It also strikes me that few Hollywood movies ever offer this kind of nuanced take on religion—that the destructive toxicity and hypocrisy of it can live side by side with sincerity, honest struggle, and goodness. And that that nuance is in a big fun movie like this, too!

I’m still grateful to Felicity Jones and her beautiful red dress (with a train and pockets!) at the TIFF premiere of TRAIN DREAMS. The red stood out like a bright spot of happiness.
