Oh right. I’m not sure I knew that. Yes that must affect the players greatly. I’ve listened to the pod now and agree that Slot is not capable of turning the ship around. It’s such a shame because I like him.

We may even need to ask the fans: should we continue singing his song on the 20 minute mark? I love the intention but is it having an unintended negative effect?

If you can’t tell, I’m crying. I was in shock just watching us play against Forest. We played without heart. We should be honoring his memory but Slot can’t give that message. We need Archbishops, and City Leaders, and former players and managers with gravitas, to inspire us.

Gentlemen, I’ve not listened yet but I think Arne Slot needs to be given a sabbatical. He’s not a bad manager. He won the league. But he’s not a grief counselor.
The team, the city, may need to come together and actually mourn.
